Care
Great care is taken with your horse's rugs and other items, as if they were my own. Rugs are clearly identified, booked in and logged to prevent any confusion over ownership. All rugs and other items rugs are assessed prior to cleaning for damage, wear and tear, and any potential issues or necessary repairs will be discussed with you.
Washing
Large commercial washing machines are used to ensure sufficient space for circulation to give the best results on the different types of rugs and the degree of soiling, and to reduce the possibility of any damage. For hygiene reasons, different clients' rugs are never washed together in the same load. We always use professional equine washing and reproofing products.
Reproofing
Reproofing is performed in the washing machine so the entire rug is treated. The required frequency of reproofing will depend on the age and type of the rug but is generally recommended once a year as the treatment should last for a season.
Drying
All rugs and garments are air dried for hygiene reasons and to ensure the fabric, products and materials are not damaged by excess heat often associated with tumble dryers. We also thoroughly clean any velcro fastenings for better performance and so your items look as new as possible. Finally, rugs and other items are aired in a centrally heated room to ensure they are fully dried out before being returned. We will not return damp items!
Repairs
We can now offer repairs to the fabric, bindings, fastenings and straps of your rugs, numnahs, boots and other equine or canine related items, using our brand new industrial sewing machine. Ask us for a quote!
